LUKE 7:18-35 - Jesus and John the Baptist PART 1

John had a unique childhood and youth, and a fascinating and short ministry career. Raised by older parents who were deeply pious affected his perspective on life. They probably died before he matured, and living in the wilderness with special provision from God impacted his perspective. People with special callings often have unique childhoods off the beaten path. John’s example is a comfort to all who didn’t necessarily grow up to be “normal” kids, because God used him for something special. Among all the prophets, Jesus said: “among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” (Luke 7:28)
