HOLY WEEK 2026

The last week of Jesus’ life before his death and resurrection is full of fascinating insights to help us do what we all will have to do one way—carry our cross to “our” Jerusalem, and obey God’s desire for us to make our “exodus” from this world to the next.

Jesus saved the world and saved all of us.

But he modeled what we all will have to do in one way or another at some point in our lives. Carry our cross, whatever it may be, and head toward God’s ultimate will for ourselves.

It’s not always an easy journey. Jesus had to pray a lot to bear it—even at one point, sweating great drops of blood.

He’s gone ahead of us, and knows how to help us along our way. Don’t give up this week. Carry the crosses Jesus gives you—and know that what the book of Hebrews says is true.

Hebrews 12

“. . . let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross . . .”

You may have a cross you have to bear. But there is a “joy” set before you. Don’t give up. Hang in there. Or if necessary, “on” there—on the cross God has given you. Accept it rather than trying to squirm out of it. And see what joy is awaiting you.
