LUKE 8:16-18 – The Lamp on a Stand
As we saw in the study of “The Parable of the Sower,” in Mark 14, Jesus told the disciples:

Christ wanted to share more parables, and wants us to both see them and understand them. Nature is loaded with them. And Christ wants us to see the “mystery” of the Kingdom of God just beneath the surface of the “reality” we see before us. The Kingdom is near. Let’s seek it, explore and rejoice in what is ours in him.
This parable is about a lamp and the “stand” it’s placed on. It’s obviously talking about you and me being a “lamp” for the life of God, but it prompts an important question.
What is your lampstand? From what vantage point does God want you to shine? He can show you what your lampstand is and how you can best glorify Him
