LUKE 6:42-43 PART 5a: SIDE STUDY – SIMUL SANCTIFICATION
Have you ever noticed how that as much as you want to believe you’re a “good tree” all the time, sometimes you’re not.
You simply don’t say good all the time.
Instead, sometimes your heart is still full of bitter, bad things.
And they eventually come out of your mouth.
That’s the way it is for me.
But the side study I’ve singled out and included as a stand-alone study might encourage you about that. You are sometimes just as bad as you think you are. But you’re also better in Christ than you can even imagine you can be. Don’t give up on yourself! Christ knows you really are in him. And when you fail, and you will sometimes, it will still be ok. Here’s a phrase I learned from The New York Times this year when they were listing the best pieces of advice they could recount from the year.
It will be fine.
Or at least, it will be over.
And no matter what, God IS FOR US. He will never, never condemn. You are in better shape than you realize.
