We have no idea how important and also how unimportant we are.  We’re important because God has called us Sons of God, and we’ve got no idea what is ours in Him. But here is how we are less important than we think we are. Ever since we chose the “tree of knowledge,” we think “our” choices, “our obedience,” “our self-discipline,” our getting” ourselves saved by “our” self-efforts are way more important than they are. They aren’t. Jesus did all of the above for us. We didn’t “get” salvation by what we said at some point. We “got” saved by Jesus at the cross. And because of that, God has created a way for us all to receive everything He is. So that’s why Jesus gets downright angry at legalism. And why does he keep pounding the point? “I AM”—- the Lord of all---event of the Sabbath.”
