Luke 4:3-4 The First Temptation of Christ: Part 2 “Stoney Ends”

How often have we whined our way into getting God to do something for us in our time, rather than his?

I know I can be guilty of this.

I want what I want and I want it NOW.

The Israelites were like that. And more than once did God have to turn “stones” into water to stop their whining.

Jesus, on the other hand, passed on the “stones to bread” temptation, doing right what the Israelites did wrong on their 40-day temptation in the wilderness.

He was willing to wait for God. Maybe we should ask God for more of his faith so we can be that way as well.

It beats being emotional wrecks and whining a lot of the time. And keeps us from “Stoney Ends” of disillusionment and frustration as well.
