Luke 4:1-3 The First Temptation of Christ: Part 1

There was a famous movie called “The Last Temptation of Christ” made years ago. It caused a lot of controversy, and posited Jesus being tempted by marriage and family and all that goes with it. Jesus survives this last temptation and finishes his role of saving the world on the cross.

In Luke, we see Jesus’ first recorded temptation---being tempted, or tried by the Devil. I personally believe he had been facing temptation all along the way in his life. He was “tempted in every way, just as we are---yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 4:15).  Let’s study the first recorded temptations of Jesus according to Luke.
