ADVENT STUDY SERIES 2025: PART 6 - The Christmas Story: The Magi in Matthew

 So when did Jesus get his Christmas presents?

 There is a story in Magi worth considering as we draw this series to a close and look forward to 2026. Matthew records the story of the “Magi.” Christmas cards abound with pictures of them bearing gifts “they traversed afar.” It’s an amazing story, and again I want to plunge myself and all of us into the moment. The more than likely toddler Jesus being visited by Gentiles from the east and being worshipped by him. Gentiles, pagans no less, travel hundreds of miles following a star to the manger of Jesus. They are recorded as the first people to worship Jesus. And worship involved gifts and visitation and all sorts of things. Let’s dive in and join them in that journey.
