LUKE 7:1-10 The Centurion from Capernaum - Part 1
So we’ve rabbit trailed a bit, but this study of the “Centurion in Capernaum” leads us to study the town Jesus lived in and did much of his ministry from (Capernaum), to consider the intriguing ruins of Peter’s large house (which Jesus called “home” during that time period), and the examples set by centurions and the esteem they were held in. They are posited as fascinating “anticipations” of the Gospel spreading in a grass roots way to through the Roman Empire. And how you can be a servant of Christ and still serve the empire by your religion WITHOUT ENFORCING your religion.
The centurion in Luke 7 is reverential and worthy man. What did he want of Jesus? We’ll see as we begin the series entitled “The Centurion from Capernaum.”
