Does Christ Threaten You?

There are so many Herod’s in the Bible, it’s easy to get them confused. The name followed many of the descendants, and no matter who was on the throne, biblical accounts speak about King Herod without specifying which one. In this study I try to give some clarity to that.

What was also consistent was how many of the “Herod’s” reacted to Christ. They were “kings” that were threatened by a new miracle working king on the block. And it begs the question—does the existence of Christ comfort us or threaten us? Are we kings clutching on to our “rule” of ourselves, our domain, our “kingdom,” or do we rejoice in the King of Kings that advances the status of us all?

After all, rather than robbing of us of our kingdoms, he gives us one.

Revelation 5:10 King James Version

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
