ADVENT STUDY SERIES 2025: PART 1 - The First Incarnation of Christ

Advent Study Series 2025 Part 1 - The First Incarnation of Christ

According to many scientists, the “Big Bang,” which gave this universe its beginning, occurred 13.8 billion years ago.

And it resulted in an amazing creation that continues to expand even to this day. But there was a second “Big Bang” that occurred almost 2,000 years ago. It was the next singularity that exploded into life that is going to swallow all this entire universe in its wake. It was the Resurrection of Christ from the dead. All life will be swallowed up by immortality (Romans 8:21). “The creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay,” the Scripture says. And it will be “brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”  When, how, and why did it begin? We’ll consider that in this special Advent series as we study the birth of Jesus---The “Little Bang” of 4 B.C

 “IN THE BEGINNING . . .”

The incarnation of Jesus has a back story.

Richard Rohr says the universe resulting in the creation of humanity was the “incarnation” of Christ. Let’s look at the Incarnation through that lens, and start this Advent series by studying the first “in the beginning” story, when the Word of God became incarnate in this Universe, eventually resulting in the creation of humankind.

Another is coming, but we’ll let first things be first.
